Every part, and why we chose it
With 10 cores (six performance cores and four efficient cores), the Intel Core Ultra 5 225 gives the X4 the processing power to run your media library, Docker containers, and virtual machines together.
Integrated Intel Quick Sync handles hardware-accelerated video transcoding in compatible apps such as Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin, without a dedicated graphics card. Hardware AV1 encoding and decoding also help handle newer video formats while keeping that work off the CPU cores.

The X4 comes with an ASRock B860I WiFi. This is a Mini ITX board on Intel's LGA1851 socket with four onboard SATA ports. An additional PCIe slot remains available for a supported GPU or faster networking. GPU clearance accommodates 2-slot cards up 4.5 inches tall x 12 inches long, excluding the power connector. Check power and connector-clearance requirements when selecting your own card.
The X4 starts with 8GB of non-ECC DDR5 memory, with configurations available up to 64GB. Two standard DIMM slots allow you to upgrade or replace memory.
An included 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD provides internal boot storage, and a second M.2 slot supports an additional NVMe drive. Four tool-free, top-loading 3.5-inch HDD bays connect through a backplane. Hard drives are not included.
The base configuration includes a 300W SilverStone ST30SF SFX power supply, a Thermalright AXP-90 X53 air cooler, and dual Arctic P12 Pro 120mm PWM fans.
An optional 650W power supply provides additional headroom for upgrades.
2.5 gigabit wired Ethernet adapter comes standard. Optional 10GbE networking uses the available PCIe slot. Wi-Fi 6E is also available via the enabled motherboard and wifi antennas.
Every X4 ships with a pre-installed Unraid Starter license tied to the TPM module.
