Unraid OS 7.1.0-rc.4 Now Available

 We're back with what is expected to be the final release candidate before the official Unraid 7.1.0 stable release next week!

This update focuses on networking, diagnostics, and system-level improvements, with new hardware support and usability fixes added in.

Here’s what’s new in rc.4:

Networking Improvements

• USB WiFi Adapter Support: If you're using WiFi, check out this list of USB adapters supported via Linux in-kernel drivers.
• WireGuard: Resolved an iptables config issue that could prevent tunnels from starting.
• Docker + WiFi: Improved detection of carrier status and interface selection when running containers on wireless connections.
• Additional WiFi Fixes: General improvements to wireless reliability and behavior.

VM Manager Fixes

• VM Icon Bug: Fixed an issue where you couldn't change a VM icon while in XML view.

Miscellaneous Fixes

• rc.messagebus: Corrected handling of /etc/machine-id on boot to prevent ID mismatches.
• Firefox Update: Now includes Firefox 128.10 via AppImage for improved browser compatibility.

Diagnostics

• Suppressed several non-critical errors in diagnostic reports to reduce confusion and improve clarity.

• Enclosure Services: CONFIG_ENCLOSURE_SERVICES and CONFIG_SCSI_ENCLOSURE
• Compute Acceleration Support:

  • CONFIG_DRM_ACCEL_HABANALABS: HabanaLabs AI accelerators
