We’re getting close to the stable release! Let’s dive in.
Known issues
Plugins
Please upgrade all plugins, particularly the Unraid Connect and the Nvidia driver. This ensures compatibility with recent OS changes.
For other known issues, see the 7.0.0 release notes.
Storage Upgrades
Import Foreign ZFS Pools
Unraid now supports importing ZFS pools from platforms like TrueNAS, Proxmox, Ubuntu, and QNAP — making it easier than ever to migrate your data.
Smarter Pool Management
- Import the largest partition on disk automatically instead of the first.
- Removing a device from btrfs RAID1 or ZFS single-vdev mirror now reduces the pool slot count properly.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Wrong pool state. Too many wrong or missing devices errors during upgrade.
- Fixed device replacement issues in ZFS pools.
- Fixed issues with old share.cfg files preventing mover from running.
- Fixed mover failing to recreate hard links if the parent directory didn’t exist.
- Fixed mover hanging on named pipes

Wireless Networking Arrives
Unraid now supports WiFi!
While wired is still preferred, WiFi is now an option for greater flexibility.
- Initial setup requires local access or a wired connection.
- Access via: Settings → Network Settings → Wireless wlan0
- Set your Regulatory Region if your network doesn’t appear.
Note: In the future, the USB Creator will allow WiFi setup during initial boot. 🚀
Virtualization Upgrades
VirGL GPU Sharing: You can now share Intel and AMD GPUs across multiple Linux VMs simultaneously! When in use, the GPU will provide accelerated graphics but will not output on the monitor. Note that this does not yet work with Windows VMs or the standard Nvidia plugin (although it does work with Nvidia GPUs using the Nouveau driver).
QXL Virtual GPUs
Run VMs using the QXL graphics card mode for better virtual display performance. Configure screen count and video memory easily in the VM template.
CPU Pinning Now Optional
If no cores are pinned to a VM, Unraid will automatically manage CPU allocation.
Nouveau Driver Included (Optional)
The open-source Nouveau driver for NVIDIA GPUs is now included (disabled by default).
To enable:
- Uninstall the NVIDIA driver plugin and in a terminal run:
touch /boot/config/modprobe.d/nouveau.conf
- Reboot.

WebGUI Enhancements
- Continued CSS improvements as part of our responsive redesign efforts.
- Fixed: AdBlockers preventing dashboard from loading.
- Fixed: Improved IPv6 address anonymization in diagnostics.
- Fixed: Docker tab dropdown menus were sometimes cut off.
- Fixed: Browser memory could exponentially grow on the dashboard in rare cases.
- Fixed: Deleting Docker directories stored on ZFS volumes now works properly.
nchan Shared Memory Fixes
- We’ve added protections and automatic nginx restarts if your Main page fails to load due to "nchan: Out of shared memory" errors.
- If your Main page doesn’t load or you see "nchan: Out of shared memory" errors, please post your diagnostics in a new forum thread. As a quick fix, go to Settings → Display Settings and disable Allow realtime updates on inactive browsers. If you see Live Updates Paused, just click the webGUI to resume updates.
⚠️ Final Call: Plugin Developers
