Meet the All-New Unraid Account App & Checkout Experience

Hey Unraiders! I’m excited to share something that we’ve been working on behind the scenes: our completely new checkout and license management experience within the Unraid Account App!

Over the past few months, we decided to move away from our custom-built checkout and account management system and transition to a modern, streamlined experience powered by Stripe. With a small team and a long backlog, you might be wondering: why dedicate resources to this right now?

Creating a Better User Experience

Part of my long-term vision for Unraid is to make every interaction you have with us feel consistent and intuitive—whether that’s inside the OS, on our website, during checkout, or while managing your account. Every touchpoint should feel easy, polished, and unmistakably Unraid. This new experience is another step in that direction.

Bringing More Development In-House

In our earlier days, outsourcing made sense. It let our small team stay laser-focused on building Unraid OS. But as we’ve grown, it’s become increasingly important to bring more of that work in-house.

Now, the same developers who build Unraid OS are also behind the systems that power your license and account management. That tighter integration means faster improvements, better reliability, and the same level of care you’ve come to expect from the Unraid team.

Built With You in Mind

The app is designed to make managing your licenses simple and transparent, while integrating seamlessly with our newly revamped documentation. You’ll now be able to easily view your license update eligibility (for Starter and Unleashed users), switch between languages, and access support faster than ever.

Our Support team’s just as excited because this update makes their workflows smoother, so they can resolve tickets faster and focus on helping you get back to what matters: using Unraid.
