Job Overview
We are seeking a talented Web Developer with expertise in eCommerce development to join the team at Unraid!
In this critical role, you'll be charged with maintaining the front and back-end development of our global eCommerce Marketing site (unraid.net), which is built on the Craft CMS and Craft Commerce platforms. You will maintain a secure shopping experience, as well as the overall marketing website and affiliated services such as our marketing and transactional email provider.
You will report directly to our Director of Marketing and Communications, Spencer Jones, with additional oversight and guidance from our CoCEO, Tiffany Jones, and technical support from our core product development team.
Currently, the duties of this role are being fulfilled by an outside agency, and we're excited to bring this role in-house. This is an exciting new position at the company with a lot of growth potential!
Unraid is owned by Lime Technology, Inc. with headquarters in San Diego, CA.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement scalable back-end solutions to support eCommerce functionalities using Craft Commerce and third-party integrations.
- Develop, customize, and optimize the unraid.net marketing site using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Enable further caching and other performance optimizations on the website to improve page load speeds and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality eCommerce solutions.
- Work directly with our marketing team to launch product promotions, sales, and other marketing initiatives.
- Conduct detailed code reviews to ensure best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance are maintained.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, bugs, and other technical challenges.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process.
- Stay current with the latest Craft Commerce/Craft CMS features, apps, and integration capabilities, and bring them to the team when relevant.
- Work closely with our ads team to track conversions and increase our ROAS.
- Maintain company-wide email service using Javascript and Node experience to build out endpoints for developers and marketing teams.
Technical Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in eCommerce development.
- On-call availability if the site goes down or purchasing is impacted. We will review our off-hours escalation protocols during the interview process.
- Strong track record of delivering complex eCommerce projects.
- Experience implementing and maintaining Stripe, PayPal, Alipay, and other payment providers.
- Knowledgeable about e-commerce principles, including product management, checkout processes, and payment gateways.
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, TailwindCSS, JavaScript, Yii2, Laravel, React/Vue, Next/Nuxt, and Node.js, with a strong understanding of RESTful APIs. GraphQL experience a bonus.

Bonus points if you...

- Have experience with headless Shopify setups and custom app development
- Have experience working with SEO, Google Analytics, and Google ads
- Are an existing Unraid user
- Have a background in web design or previous experience in an agency
Other Requirements
- The start date for this position will be January 6, 2025.
- This position is open to those with employment authorization in the United States who are able to work during our typical office hours.
- We are reasonably flexible with office hours, though we do require that you are available for synchronous communication between 9am-4pm local time, Monday through Friday. Our core team is spread around the US, with half in PST and half in EST. This position will mainly work with our staff members in PST.
- We host twice yearly team offsites that are typically held in Southern California for about a week. Your attendance at these offsites is mandatory.
About You
You're the right fit if...
- You have very strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You can easily transition between tasks and projects, understanding that as a global eCommerce business, there may be times when you need to drop everything and focus on an issue with the site or purchasing. This will be a regular and expected part of this role.
- You have the ability to be proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented. You will have developers on the team to help with code reviews or problem-solving, but you will be the main developer being assigned to maintain our website and associated services, so your ability to work as a “Manager of One” is critical.
- You’re passionate about staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.
- You’re comfortable working in a remote environment.
- You can respectfully interact with users in public forums. Our online community is known to be one of the most friendly and helpful communities out there, and we are incredibly protective of that reputation.

- 100% Medical Coverage for you; 50% coverage for dependents
- 100% Dental & Vision coverage for you and your dependents
- 100% Short and Long Term Disability Coverage for all employees
- $2000 Annual "Get your best work done" budget for home office equipment, coworking space memberships, trainings and courses, and more.
- Free Access to a Team Mentor
- All expense paid week-long spring and fall offsites, typically held in Southern California.
The Interview Process
Candidates will undergo at least 2-3 interviews to assess cultural and technical fit. We will request 3 references before a job offer can be made. During the interview process, we will review some of the current and upcoming projects that you will be tasked with so that you have a really good idea of what the day to day of the job looks like.
Ensuring that you are the right fit from both a technical and cultural standpoint is critical. Candidates should expect to meet each member of our staff throughout the interview process, and be ready to have their camera turned on throughout the process (assuming the interview takes place remotely).
