Unraid 7.4.0-Beta.1 Now Available
A Smarter Task Tray, Multi-Network Docker, Configurable Power Buttons, and much more!
Today we're releasing Unraid 7.4.0 into public beta. This beta brings Linux kernel 6.18.44, security updates across ten core packages, and Realtek RTW88 wireless hardware support.
Note: This is a beta release. We recommend testing on non-production systems and welcome bug reports via our new bug tracker.
Highlights
A shared task tray for background operations
Background operations kicked off from plugins, Docker, and virtual machines can now be queued and managed from a shared task tray, with foreground recall available from any browser tab. Foreground task sheets also scale with your browser viewport, while still respecting saved width and mobile behavior.
Multiple custom networks for Docker containers
Docker container templates now support multiple custom networks. Additional network attachments are retained when a container is recreated or updated, so you no longer have to re-wire networking every time you update an image.
Docker Memory limit field and icon preview
Advanced View now exposes a Memory limit field for Docker containers directly in the UI. The Add/Edit forms also show a live preview for the container icon URL, with a sensible fallback when the URL is empty or invalid.
Configurable power-button behavior
Physical power-button behavior can now be configured for Shut down, Reboot, or Do nothing, under Settings → Power Options — useful if you've ever had a server accidentally powered off by a bump against the case.
Boot device backups, with progress tracking
The Boot Device page now supports downloading a flash backup directly or saving it to the server, with progress tracking as the backup runs.

Security
This beta includes security fixes across a number of core packages: bind, libXfont2, libarchive, libssh, openssh, p11-kit, php, samba, wpa_supplicant, and xorg-server.
Notification integrations also now use certificate-verified requests for the public API.
Storage
- Fix: Pressing Enter in encrypted array passphrase fields now starts the array once passphrase validation succeeds.
- Fix: File Manager keeps exclusive shares in the /mnt/user/<share> view instead of switching to the underlying disk or pool path.
WebGUI / System
- Fix: The Installed Plugins page now checks updates independently, so a slow or unreachable plugin no longer holds up the entire page.
- Fix: Plugin update validation failures now remain visible with an explanation instead of silently reporting the plugin as up-to-date, including failures caused by a full root filesystem.
- Fix: Plugin Manager post-hook cleanup now runs correctly even when error messages contain shell characters.
Networking / Hardware
- New: Added kernel modules and firmware for Realtek RTW88 8812A, 8814A, and 8821A wireless adapters.
Virtualization
- Fix: VM startup no longer logs a PHP deprecation warning when the QEMU location lookup produces no output.
