Unraid 7.3.0-Beta.2 Now Available

Beta 2 brings Dedicated Boot Pool Support, Docker Fixes, and Beta.1 Polish

7 3 0 Beta 2

Today we're releasing Unraid 7.3.0-beta.2, a focused follow-up to beta.1 that addresses the most impactful regressions reported by testers, adds dedicated boot pool support, and ships a broad set of storage, Docker, and WebGUI fixes.

If you tested beta.1, thank you! This release is a direct result of your bug reports.

Note: This is a beta release. We recommend testing on non-production systems and welcome bug reports via our new bug tracker.

What's New in Beta.2 Dedicated Boot Pool Support

Beta.2 adds dedicated boot pool support as a distinct option from split boot pools, giving you more flexibility and clarity when configuring your internal boot setup.

Docker Fixes

Beta.1 surfaced a handful of Docker regressions that we've addressed in full:

  • Container MAC addresses are now correctly preserved across Docker restarts and system reboots. Beta.1 introduced a regression that caused routers and monitoring tools to see duplicate or randomly replaced MAC addresses after every restart — that's fixed.
  • Phantom containers that became newly visible after the Docker 27 to 29 upgrade path are now filtered from the WebGUI, eliminating confusing leftovers without touching Docker state.
  • Strix Point iGPU workloads in Docker containers now work correctly on affected systems.

Storage

  • Fixed sector-size compatibility regressions affecting 4Kn devices and some LSI HBA setups using 512e disks on XFS-formatted array disks
  • 4Kn devices formatted with XFS in beta.1 or newer can now be moved out of the array and mounted normally in pools or other Linux systems
  • Fixed encrypted pools using luks:zfs or luks:btrfs incorrectly reporting UNKNOWN status
  • Fixed boot-time nfsrahead abort spam on affected systems
  • Restored correct read and write totals for array devices
  • Fixed the New Config tool to handle boot pools correctly

WebGUI and System

  • The Onboarding Wizard has moved to Tools and now includes a direct internal boot device link when setup still needs attention
  • Fixed: Boot page browse icon restored on affected systems
  • Fixed: Black theme dropdown visibility in the Onboarding Wizard
  • Fixed: GMT timezone selection state in the Onboarding Wizard
  • Fixed: Bind selected to vfio action restored in System Devices
  • Fixed: WebGUI and API requests no longer spin up the full HDD array unnecessarily
  • Fixed: CPU isolation settings now save and apply correctly
  • Fixed: rclone configuration now persists across reboots
  • Fixed: ReiserFS upgrade block restored to prevent unsupported systems from updating
  • Fixed: Pools previously configured as boot pools can now be removed correctly

Rolling Back

If you enabled internal boot or switched to TPM-based licensing during beta.1 testing, you can roll back to beta.1 without issue. Do not roll back to 7.2.4 or earlier after enabling internal boot or TPM-based licensing.
